The Office

On the subject of "funny shows" I am watching The Office. I am currently on season 7, and there are only 9 seasons, so I am close. I never really paid attention to the show before now (my sister forced me to watch it in its entirety) but it is reallllyyyyy funny!
The character of Michael Scott, I absolutely HATE. He is completely self-destructive and just plain old foolish. He actually makes me upset sometimes, kind of like Patrick on Sponge bob. The situations are ridiculous.
I have become addicted to it though and I recommend it to anyone who will listen. But most people don't give the show a chance, because they think it is dry humor...but it can get pretty wet some times.
That's what she said.

  1. I loved the office when Steve Carrell played Michael Scott. I tend to have a very sarcastic and dry sense of humor so this show and I hit it off right away. I like your comparison of Michael to Patrick from Spongebob. I think that the dynamic between him and Dwight is comedic gold.

  2. Dwight is one of my favorite characters on television. He always has a problem and is clearly the pest or unsettling person that can be found in any office, for anyone who has ever worked in an office setting. Yeah, it is dry, but I see dry humor as just requiring the time to understand characters, like Michael and Dwight. Because it is the actual relationship that is funny, and not necessarily a one-liner you'd hear in most sitcoms. And nice ending, Steve Carrell would be proud.

  3. I love this show. I think that a lot of sitcoms on TV now lack originality, and I can't believe that in 2013 some shows are still using laugh tracks, but The Office is a very creative TV show, and its format has been used in many other shows like Modern Family and Parks and Recreation.
