Cartoons!

So I sort of just saw a blog post from one of my class mates. Not sure whose it was. But I didn’t read the whole post...or even really start to read it but from what I scanned it said are cartoons really even for children anymore.
And that is something I have been discussing for a long while. My sister, who is older than me, forces me to watch Adventure Time and Regular Show with her; Gumball as well. But Gumball is pretty child appropriate I think. Regular Show has never seemed to be a kids cartoon. The first episode featured a limerick in which the main characters sang "Don't look at our crotches while we synchronize our watches" which I didn't think was very appropriate! The show hasn’t been hyper sexual ever since, but it really set the tone.
Adventure Time was pretty OK at first. But one of the main characters Jake got a girlfriend. And then got her pregnant and had babies. On a children's cartoon! They don't elaborate on how exactly she got pregnant however. They don't get married or anything either, which can be looked at as promoting the modern view of family, which is not wrong. Just different; and not something I expected out of a cartoon.
